The Project

A&B Rail Services was hired to construct 57,240 track feet of new track for the Ridley Island Road and Rail Facility in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

 

Deliverables:

  • 57,240 lineal track feet of new track
  • 2 #10 turnouts and 6 #8 turnouts
  • 250 thermite welds
  • Deposit 700 cars of ballast
  • Surface and destress

The construction of the Ridley Island Road and Rail Facility required significant project management expertise to ensure client expectations and project time lines were met under a constantly fluctuating contract. For the Ridley Island Road and Rail Facility, the successful completion of this project will result in an increase in trade capacity at the Prince Rupert Port. By providing rail access, the Prince Rupert Port Authority is able to attract investments consistent with the 2020 Gateway Vision.
