The Project
A&B Rail Services was hired to build an LRT expansion to Rocky Ridge/Tuscany in Calgary, Alberta. This project extended the current NW LRT past Crowfoot station into a new station – Tuscany Station.
Deliverables:
- 4,000 track meters of track construction
- 4,000 track meters of ballast distributed
- 365 meters of plinth construction over 2 road bridges
- 1 #8 diamond crossovers installed
- 1 at grade crossing installed
- Flash butt welds
The Result
A satisfied client and another quality project completed. This 2.5 km time sensitive project is a prime example of A&B Rail Services expertise, capabilities and commitment to Doing It Right. There were a number of significant challenges which came up during this project that A&B Rail Services was able to overcome. Some of these included managing crews and construction in high traffic areas, and coordinating materials and logistics associated with high traffic areas. For the City of Calgary’s North West LRT system, this extension provides train service for people living and working in Rocky ridge, Royal Oak and Tuscany neighbourhoods.
