The Project
A&B Rail Services was hired to provide track protection services on all of Metrolinx’ rail corridors in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
Deliverables:
- Track Protection Services to help enable the transformation of the Georgetown South Corridor from a former CN Rail single track mainline (Weston Subdivision) into a multi-track commuter rail corridor
- Over 50 qualified A&B Rail Services employees protected hundreds of contractors building new grade separations, tunnels, and new station facilities over the course of the contract while working on and near an active rail lines
The Result
A satisfied client and another quality project completed. This time-sensitive project is a prime example of A&B Rail Services expertise, capabilities, and commitment to Doing It Right. For GTS and the greater Toronto area, this means that up to 2.35 million passengers now have an express route from Toronto’s Union Station to Pearson International Airport, which also eliminates about 1.2 million car trips to the airport in its first year alone. For A&B Rail Services, it means another satisfied customer in our 50-year journey to become Canada’s largest, most-experienced and most sought-after rail services company.
