The Project

A&B Rail Services was hired by Metrolinx to construct two 1,500’ steel tie layover tracks, including two new #9 steel tie turnouts, electric switch heaters, locomotive drip trays, rail seal, thermite welding, surfacing and destressing.

 

Deliverables:

  • Work plans methodologies
  • Site survey
  • Maintaining existing layover operation
  • Procurement and delivery of track material, turnouts and associated wayside equipment
  • Installing #9 T/O on the CP Lead track during a scheduled weekend work block
  • Thermite welding 115# rails
  • Ballasting
  • Surfacing
  • Destressing
  • Installing rubber rail seal
