
The Project
In the fall of 2018, A&B Rail was mandated by Rio Tinto, to perform a track rehabilitation project including tie supply, replacement, and disposal, in addition to the elimination of mechanical joints on their railway in Havre St-Pierre.
Deliverables:
- Distribution, replacement, and disposal of +/-10,000 rail ties
- Elimination of 280 mechanical joints on the railway using the flashbutt welding process and including the destressing of the section of rail affected by the welding process.
- Supply and delivery of 5,200 track ties for a part of the project
- Supply and delivery of track spikes & rail anchors required for the project.
The Result
A satisfied client and another quality project completed. This time sensitive project is a prime example of A&B Rail Services expertise, capabilities and commitment to Doing It Right.
