Project Profile

Multiyear track protection services (railway flagging) contract with Metrolinx for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) for all capital projects on Metrolinx owned corridors.


The Project

Track Protection  / Flagging: A&B Rail Services has been awarded its 2nd  multi-year contract to provide track protection services for the Metrolinx Greater Toronto and Hamilton area since 2011. The primary focus of our contract is to provide 140 trained and qualified flagmen to protect grading works, new track and signal construction, new station construction, station platform activities, grade separations, bridge widening, and snow removal.



Track protection services for various Metrolinx infrastructure projects:

  • GFL at Unionville Go station
  • Lincolnville layover
  • 401 tunnel west side
  • TTP Weston tunnel
  • All related railway infrastructure improvement projects


The Result

This safety-sensitive project is a prime example of A&B Rail Services expertise, capabilities, and commitment to Doing It Right. For the greater Toronto and Hamilton area, this means that tens of millions of GO Train commuters who rely on a scheduled commuter train services, will move safely and efficiently through the network with little or no delay while billions of dollars of construction projects are completed.
